Fin mai 2023, après plusieurs années d’études et de conception au sein de l’École de l’air et de l’espace (EAE), le premier vol du projet RAPACE s’est déroulé dans le département du Var. C’est le premier projet de ce type en France appliquant un prisme militaire à la propulsion de drones par hydrogène. Ce prototype permettra aux chercheurs d’effectuer des études sur les apports de l’utilisation d’un drone à technologie hydrogène, en particulier dans les domaines de l’autonomie énergétique et de la discrétion ther-mique et acoustique.
