East Mediterranean Countries to Hold Meeting
Riyad, Saudi Arabia -- June 9, 2001 (WAM) -- Saudi Arabia will host the meeting of the 48th session of the Regional Commission for East Mediterranean Countries from September 30 to October 3.
Twenty-two Health Ministers of East Mediterranean countries will participate in the meetings. Saudi Ministry of Health informed the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the countries which will participate in the meetings are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria, Yemen, Djibouti, Somalia, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Tunisia, Palestine, Cyprus, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya and Morocco.
The meeting aims to lay the foundation for comprehensive future joint co-operation in order to counter sanitary disasters, emergencies and epidemic situations, as well as recent dangerous diseases. WAM/OA-VV
