In the context of the smart acquisition process under the last ten years of the MOD, this contract is the result of a fruitful cooperation that the Sentry IPT (Sentry Integrated Project Team) and Snecma Services have developed over the recent years. In line with Snecma Services strategy for long term engine package services contract, it covers a total comprehensive engine maintenance support with the aim to ensuring the availability and the reliability of the engines through the whole life of the aircraft whilst in operation at the RAF.

With this agreement Snecma Services will be in charge of the RAF CFM56-2A engine maintenance programme and will handle all required maintenance services on site and in specialized repair centres as well as the management of spares engines.

Both Sentry IPT, the RAF and Snecma Services believe that this contract expands our current partnership and that this the best way to ensure efficient operations of the strategic AWACS aircraft.

Snecma Services provides both airlines and armed forces with a full line of aero-engine support services, including: on-wing support and off-wing maintenance and repair, fleet management, engineering training, asset management, parts procurement, components repair, technical publications, tooling services.

With its three sites in France (Montereau, Saint-Quentin and Châtellerault) and its subsidiary (Snecma Services Brussels - Belgium), Snecma Services formed local joint ventures with major industrials and airlines partners: Snecma Morocco Engine Services with Royal Air Maroc (Morocco); Sichuan Snecma Aero-engine Maintenance Company Ltd with CSWA (China South West Airlines); Ceramic Coating Center with MTU Aero Engine (Germany); International Compressor Technologies with Praxair (USA); Propulsion Technology with Techspace Aero (Belgium) and Propulsion Technology Corp. (USA).
